John V Arthur Estate
Agents for Northern Ireland Property
For Northern Ireland property The Arthur family
can look back over 122 years of service to the public of Londonderry
and the North-West of Northern Ireland.
The first estate agent founded in the City by a
member of the Arthur family was set up in 1880 by Mr Hugh Arthur,
who opened his business in Castle Street after having spent several
years with one of the leading legal firms in the North-West.
The business was continued by Mr Arthur's son, Mr
Jack Arthur, who made an outstanding contribution to estate agency
and property management.
In 1967, Mr John V Arthur became the third generation
to continue the family profession which he entered after taking
a BSc degree in Estate Management at London University.
In 1980 Mr Jeremy Arthur, a Fellow of the National
Association of Estate Agents, became the fourth generation to
enter the family profession. Jeremy took over direction of the
estate agency business at 150 Spencer Road, Waterside in March
1995.
Recognised as one of the leading estate agents in
Londonderry the firm of John V Arthur is in an ideal position
to give sound advice to anyone who is considering selling or letting
residential or commercial property in Northern Ireland.

Property, - John V Arthur Estate
Agents in Northern Ireland provides our clients with a first
class service acting fully on their behalf in the sale of property
in Northern Ireland whether it be residential or commercial.
The first step is to give clients expert advice in relation to
an asking price for the property to be placed on the market. Correct
advice here is crucial as an incorrect asking price can damage
initial interest in a property and slow down the sales process.
We then produce a sales brochure, being mindful of the Property
Misdescriptions Act, for distribution to prospective purchasers,
place details with colour photograph in our Residential &
Commercial Property Guides, place your property on our web site
www.johnvarthur.com (and for residential property) on www.propertynews.com
,display your property in our window display (which is lit up
until 11.30pm) and erect a For Sale Board at your property.
We have found in recent times that most of our enquiries come
from the following four sources;
For Sale Board, Web Site, Window Display and Property Guide.
The advantage of this is that it is no longer necessary to rely
on expensive newspaper advertising to market your property thereby
reducing costs to our clients. That said some newspaper advertising
may be desirable for certain types of property.
Once your property is placed on the market we conduct a mail shot
using our specialist software to produce a mailing letter incorporating
colour photograph and brief details to whet the prospective purchasers
appetite.
As part of our sales service we can also offer accompanied viewing.
At John V Arthur Estate Agents in Northern Ireland we keep our
clients fully informed of progress during the sales activity.
We utilise over 120 years experience and knowledge to offer advice
guiding you through what can be, in the case of residential sales,
one of the most stressful events in your life, to a successful
completion.
If you are considering selling residential or commercial property
please contact us for a current market analysis of your property.
PROPERTY LETTINGS
John V Arthur Estate Agents offer a property letters service for
residential & Commercial North West Nothern Ireland property
and indeed farm land.
We locate a suitable tenant for your property and negotiate a
rent on your behalf.
In the case of residential properties we also prepare a Tenancy
Agreement for use in the tenancy created.
Residential Tenants are credit checked so we can offer you full
advice as to their suitability.
We also offer Residential Landlords a rent guarantee scheme which
we highly recommend as in this day and age people can unfortunately
lose their unemployment at short notice or indeed couples may
separate leaving a shortfall in income. We also insist tenants
have their own insurance in respect of their belongings and accidental
damage to landlord contents. Residential and Commercial properties
are placed in our Letting and Commercial property guides, placed
on our web site www.johnvarthur.com , and displayed in our office.
Mail shots are conducted using our specialist software and where
required we can place properties in the local newspapers on your
behalf.
If you are considering letting property please contact us for
advice.
